Odyssey

“The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.” - Lao Tzu

At long last I decided that it is time for me to move on with getting myself some sort of an education. And I reckon that if I do decide, it had better be something that I was truly interested in. So I began my odyssey.

With great help and support from G and Peter, I took the plunge that signed up with Swinburne University for a course in astronomy leading to a Masters of Science. My first two modules are, Exploring the Solar System (HET602) and Exploring Stars and the Milky Way (HET603).

Since I am working in the library, I believe that I may be able to use the great resources here within, to help me in my quest, the great minds. Yit and Timothy from NL (Reference Library), along with Elaine from UNSWAsia Library where particular helpful in giving pointers on where to find resources.

I started first semester today with much anticipation though I do have trepidations. Its been such a long while since I’ve studied and my math is just plain bad. Although the initial subjects are pretty much concept based and not mathematically driven, it’ll help to understand the mathematical models. G managed to dig up her old A Math textbook after I couldn’t locate mine and I realised the I really need to brush up my math. Yit was kind enough to enquire on my level of math and had some pointers on what to look out for. For this, I’m grateful.

Onwards to the journey!
